Psychoeducational programs for couples · organized by AltreStrade
Couple coaching and workshops
Two Gottman Institute programs, led in Italian. Not therapy: a way to learn together what the research knows about relationships that last.
The workshops are structured meetings for couples who are doing well, or going through an ordinary rough patch, and want concrete tools: how to talk to each other, how to argue without hurting each other, how to stay friends when time for the two of you disappears. I lead them as a Seven Principles Workshop Leader and a Bringing Baby Home Educator, trained by the Gottman Institute.

In brief
Couples of every kind: married or not, straight or LGBTQIA+, with or without children, also before moving in together or marrying.
Small-group workshops. Explanations are for everyone; the exercises are done as a couple, in private: nobody tells their story to the group unless they want to.

The Seven Principles program
“The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work” is the Gottman Institute program drawn from John Gottman’s book, built on decades of research with thousands of couples.
Couples work through the seven principles of the Sound Relationship House: knowing your partner’s world (Love Maps), nurturing fondness and admiration, turning toward each other instead of away, letting yourself be influenced, solving the solvable problems, overcoming gridlock, creating shared meaning. Each principle has its exercises: you do them as a couple, with the official materials, and you take them home.
There are no confessions in front of the group and there are no diagnoses. There are tools, and the time to try them.
It suits couples who want to prevent, consolidate, or repair a relationship that works but creaks. It does not replace therapy when conflict is high, there has been violence, or one of you is thinking of leaving.
Led in Italian, with the program’s official materials.
Bringing Baby Home
The Gottman Institute’s program for couples expecting a baby or with a small child: how to stay friends and allies when sleep is short and time for the two of you disappears, how to handle conflict, how to share the care of your baby from the first months. I run it as a Bringing Baby Home Educator, with the official materials. It comes from the same attention to families that has been with me since 2001, and since 2003 through AltreStrade, which now organizes these editions.
For: couples expecting a baby or with a small child.
Coaching groups on relational skills
A small online group, eight evening sessions, for couples and also for individuals who want to work on how they are in relationships. If you are interested, leave your details and check “coaching group” to join the waiting list and be notified of the next edition.
Who organizes it
AltreStrade scs, Padua
The workshops and groups are organized by AltreStrade Società Cooperativa Sociale, a non-profit social cooperative based in Padua that I co-founded and chair: it offers coaching and training, and these programs are part of its health-promotion work. Enrollment, contract and invoice are AltreStrade’s, at altrestrade.it. The Gottman Institute trains and certifies those who lead the programs; it does not organize or promote these editions.
Who it is not for
The workshops are not therapy and do not replace it. They are not suitable if there is aggression, violence or fear in the relationship; if you are in an acute crisis or a recent, painful separation; if one of you is deciding whether to stay. In those cases the right place is couple therapy, or an info call to work out together where to start.
FAQ
Is it therapy?
No. It is a psychoeducational program: you learn skills, nothing is being treated. That is why AltreStrade organizes it, not the clinical practice.
Do we have to talk about our problems in front of others?
No. The group listens to the explanations; you do the exercises as a couple, in private. Nobody has to share anything.
Can we come if we are doing fine?
Yes: it is the best time. The programs were built to prevent, not only to repair.
And if we are struggling?
If conflict is high or trust has been broken, couple therapy will serve you better. We can talk about it in an info call.
Who issues the invoice and how do we pay?
AltreStrade Società Cooperativa Sociale, with VAT. Payment is made at altrestrade.it.
Can I come on my own?
The Seven Principles and Bringing Baby Home workshops are attended as a couple. The coaching group is also open to individuals.
In which language?
In Italian, with the official materials in English.
